Sindelfingen

Sindelfingen has 64.000 inhabitants and is part of the thriving Stuttgart metropolitan region. The city is home to the Daimler car manufacturing factory – the largest one in the world – as well as many affiliated supply businesses. For this reason, Sindelfingen has a long history of labor immigration and today is one of the most diverse cities in all of Germany. Because of the proximity to Stuttgart and the public transport links to this urban center, Sindelfingen does not have its own ensemble houses such as a city theater. However, there is a vibrant independent culture scene and very robust municipal aid in this area. Besides the several orchestras and theater companies there are several active clubs in the city.

A particular focus lies on cultural offerings for children and youths. Both the city-run School for Music, Theater and Dance (SMTT) and the Sim TV Children's Film Academy are established players in the local culture sector.
